How should I getmy website built?

Most low-cost website options sell you the tools and leave you to design, write and maintain the site. With every Sitethreesixty Degree, you provide the business facts and we provide the design and technical know-how. At £22 a month, 90° brings a professionally created website into the same price range as many DIY tools.

What are my options?

These are four common ways to get a business website. The right choice depends on whether you want software, a collection of website parts, a one-off agency project or an ongoing website service.

01YOU BUY · A TOOL

Website builder

Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy give you tools to make a website yourself. You still have to learn the builder, choose the design, add the words and photos, and make every page work on phones and computers without one layout breaking the other. You also need to understand enough about how Google finds the pages. Terms such as SEO, HTML and CSS soon become your problem too.

Strong fit
You want low upfront cost and have the time and patience to learn the software.
Keep in mind
You become the designer, writer, updater and tester—and the person expected to understand the website vocabulary.
02YOU BUY · THE WEBSITE PARTS

WordPress website

WordPress builds a website from separate parts. Extra functions usually mean finding—and sometimes buying—more plugins. You work within the options each plugin provides, then somebody has to keep all those parts updated and working together.

Strong fit
You already have someone you trust who knows WordPress and are happy with what the available plugins can do.
Keep in mind
Some plugins cost extra, offer fixed options and can clash or stop working after updates.
03YOU BUY · A TEAM PROJECT

Traditional agency

You explain what the business needs and a team designs and builds it as a one-off job. This can make sense when the website is part of a bigger branding or advertising project. Once it is live, you usually pay ongoing management fees or take the updates back on yourself.

Strong fit
You need branding, advertising or several specialists working together—and do not mind paying for ongoing management.
Keep in mind
After the initial project, check whether updates, maintenance and fixes are included or charged separately.

What will I actually have to do?

The important difference is what each route asks you to do while the website is being created and whenever it needs to change.

This is a general comparison, not a claim about every provider. Before choosing, ask who owns the domain, who creates and maintains the website, what later changes cost and what happens if something stops working.

What will it really cost me?

A low monthly fee can be good value when you are happy to spend time on the website. If you are not, count the hours as well.

01

What you pay

Monthly price, setup, keeping it online, paid plugins and charges for changes.

02

Time in

Learning the system, writing pages, adding photos, fixing problems and chasing people.

03

What happens later

Updating content, maintaining software, solving faults and arranging outside services.

What else should I ask?

Is a website builder always the wrong choice?

No. It can be excellent value when you want to make the site yourself, enjoy learning the tool and have more time than budget. The important thing is to count that work honestly.

Why not just use WordPress?

WordPress can be the right choice when you already have someone reliable looking after it and the available plugins suit what you need. Some plugins are free and others must be bought. They usually give you set options rather than something tailored around the business, and several plugins working together can sometimes cause stability problems. A booking system is included with 360 Degrees.

How is Sitethreesixty different from a DIY builder?

A DIY builder gives you the tools to make a website. Sitethreesixty creates the website from business facts you provide and approve. When something changes, use Content Map at 90° or speak directly to your personal designer at 180° and 360°.

Can another provider offer a Sitethreesixty Degree?

No. The Degrees are exclusive to Sitethreesixty and use a website system designed by Sitethreesixty. We learn about the business, shape the website around it and ask you to check the facts before the site is completed.

What changes between 90, 180 and 360 Degrees?

90° uses Content Map for occasional website changes. 180° adds a personal designer, direct contact and a website suited to more active content. 360° retains your personal designer and adds more pages, features, content and connected business systems.

Can I move between Degrees later?

You can ask to move up or down. Any change is subject to the plan terms and pricing available at the time.

Which route fits your business?

DIY gives you the raw ingredients. An agency can feel like fast food at personal-chef prices. Sitethreesixty is the restaurant you love: attentive, well-made and built to order around your business.

Choose a builder if you want to make the website yourself. Choose WordPress if you already have somebody you trust to maintain it. Choose an agency for a larger branding or advertising project. Choose Sitethreesixty for a business website created from your facts and kept current through one clear monthly service.
